About Beyond the Surface

Hi, I'm Elisa Palchetti, a self-taught artist from Florence, Italy. After working as a fashion designer in Italy, Portugal and USA, I discovered a new passion for oil painting while raising my three children in Mexico. During this time I also illustrated children's books. 

When my kids needed better educational opportunities, we moved to the USA, and I launched Beyond the Surface, a creative project that combines fluid art and fine portrait painting, incorporating recycled materials and experimenting with UV-reactive light and glow-in-the-dark elements. This diverse approach presents technical challenges but allows me to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

 I aim to create art that's not just visually striking, but also layered with meaning, symbolism, and depth. By combining different styles and techniques, I create a rich narrative that invites viewers to explore and interpret the artwork in their own way finding a portal of a world beyond the surface, where resilience, hope, and transformation await discovery.
